Sales Lead

About The Company

At Kanibal & Co., we celebrate community, craft, and curated finds. Since our start online in 2006 and expansion into brick-and-mortar shops in Jersey City and Summit, we’ve built a store that blends forward-thinking goods with timeless charm — from clothing and accessories to home décor, jewelry, gifts, and locally made artisan pieces.

We’re as passionate about supporting creators and hosting workshops as we are about offering a welcoming retail experience that keeps customers coming back.

The Role

The Sales Lead delivers exceptional customer service, sharing product and brand knowledge while mentoring the sales team to help drive revenue and create an unforgettable in-store experience.

The ideal candidate is proactive, community-minded, and thrives in a customer-focused environment. This is a highly sales-driven role that requires someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, takes initiative, and brings a sense of ownership to the shop floor.

This position splits time between our Jersey City and Summit locations, so flexibility and enthusiasm for being part of both communities is key.

  • Drive in-store sales through maximizing product sell-through and positively affecting ADS and UPT by communicating product knowledge, team selling, and a customer-focused approach
  • Brainstorm and present new sales initiatives to management
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Sales Associates; assist management with onboarding and sales training of new hires
  • Represent Kanibal & Co. in a positive and professional manner, cultivating relationships with customers and the local community to drive repeat visits and word-of-mouth referrals
  • Check out customers, thoughtfully ringing and wrapping their items, and accurately completing each transaction
  • Maintain the sales floor and regularly restock product when needed
  • Accurately receive inventory and boxes
  • Provide buyers and management with physical inventories and identify low inventory needs for reordering purposes; identify key product categories and adjust suggestions based on the season and market drivers
  • Partner with the team on all opening and closing procedures
  • Assist the Visual Lead with getting new items on the floor
  • Assist with social media content creation during shifts on an as-needed basis
